We have all heard about the expression “a smoker’s cough”, which basically refers to that cough that reminds us of a person who has been smoking for a long period of time. In fact, his/her body warns the smoker that the smoke inhaled every day damages the mouth, throat and especially the lungs. Combined with the toxicity of the cigarettes, the irritation provoked by smoke can lead to cancer.
Fortunately, either the smoker or the person who tries to quit smoking have the opportunity to keep their lungs healthy for a longer period of time.
How to stay healthy while you smoke
Smoking is a very serious and dangerous addiction, which seems to be the main cause of lung cancer. Nevertheless, one can continue its habits, but still have a healthy system on the basis of different lifestyle changes he/she can opt for.
On one hand the smoker should change his daily diet and include foods rich in antioxidants such as garlic, leeks or onion and consume more turmeric and ginger, as they calm inflammations and irritations caused by smoke. On the other hand, the smoker should do some sport and perform deep breathing exercises which will clean and purify the lungs.
Remedy:
Mix well 400 gr of brown sugar with 1L of water, 1kg of onions, 2 tsp of turmeric and 1 small peeled ginger root in a saucepan. Let the water boil at low flame until the liquid is reduced by half. Strain the mixture obtained and preserve it in a jar in the fridge.
Consume two tablespoons of elixir two times a day, before breakfast and before dinner.
This remedy will definitely not replace quitting smoking, but it will repair part of the damage caused by smoke and additives.
